THE L.A. PROJECT
My name is La Juan and I have struggled with my weight for nearly 12 years because of bad habits and surgeries. I was a sports athlete in high school and college, but since 1998 I have been obese throughout the last 12 years. I have tipped the scales at my heaviest at 305 pounds. In late 2015, I resolved to take better care of myself, which included quitting drinking soft drinks, limiting fast foods, and joining the gym for exercise. Initially, I dropped weight quickly and lost 15 pounds to get to 290. Since I’m not losing the weight as I would’ve liked, I took a look at my eating habits and workout routines. I’m using My Fitness Pal app and Online Program where I’m learning how food should be measured and weighed, and how much I should eat in a day and track my workout routines.
My overall goal is to drop 80 to 100 pounds before December 31, 2016. My weight lost is broken down in 3 months intervals. I started on August 29th and my weight was 290. My goal weight is 220 by December 31, 2016. I will get there eating by clean eating with 1200 calories a day and by working my way up to 40 mins of cardio and 40 mins of resistance training 6 days a week.
This blog outlines my journey toward improved health and fitness, one workout, goal, and day at a time!
